MISSION OF THE CHICAGO CHAPTER
The Chicago Chapter exists to serve as a “Clearinghouse” between the 100+ Councils in Cook and Lake Counties. So what does that mean? With over 16,000 members in the Archdiocese of Chicago, the Chapter can “rally the troops” for causes and initiatives. If an individual Council needs assistance in raising money for a large cause, garnering volunteers for a large cause, or raising the profile of such a cause, The Chapter can effectively communicate these needs out to all of the Councils and achieve a greater result than any single Council.
Examples of such causes or Initiatives:
• Mercy Home For Boys and Girls, most notably “March For Kids”
• Special Olympics / ID Drive
• Habitat For Humanity
• Silver Rose Program
• Traveling Icon Program
• Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest
• Ultrasound Initiative
The Chapter also serves as an informational resource for Council leadership and provides Officer Training on request. The Chapter has conducted Exemplifications and hosted Fraternal Benefits Events.
The Chapter exists to help every Council achieve Star Council status, whatever that may be. Working in conjunction with our Archdiocesan Chairman, our Mission remains nimble enough to respond to the particular needs of a given Fraternal Year. But regardless of the details, the Mission is always to be of service to our Brothers and Councils in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
